ABOUT KRISTIE

It has often been said by Kristie’s clients that they feel as if they are sharing a space with a dear friend.

Kristie Knights has practiced as a psychotherapist for 21 years and is passionate about serving others by using the gift God has given her. Through her private practice, Kristie has helped guide hundreds of clients, both nationally and internationally, to lead a life of joy and purpose.

Kristie is trained in Acute and Complex Trauma Treatment, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) treatment modalities. She specializes in helping those with acute complex trauma, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and suicidal thoughts or attempts. She also has additional training in EMDR to treat those with chronic pain, autoimmune disease, and digestive disorders with great success. In keeping with her mission to walk alongside her clients every step of the way and reinforce that they are never alone, Kristie also launched the first Concierge Therapy Services Model in Pittsburgh, PA.

As a result of her own encounter with suicide, Kristie aims to help others struggling with suicidal thoughts find hope and healing. This led Kristie to become the Founder and CEO of the 501(c)3 Non-Profit, iRise. The mission of iRise is to eradicate suicide in communities through various trainings and services surrounding suicide prevention and awareness. Kristie is also a member of the American Counseling Association, National Board of Certified Counselors, and American Association of Suicidology.

Beyond her work as a professional therapist, Kristie was blessed with the gift of writing. Her way with words has led her to serve as a contributing author for Inspired Entrepreneurs: A Compilation of Women’s Triumphs in Business and Life and to write numerous articles for a variety if web-based publications, including The Teen Mentor™ and Thrive Global. Her most recent work is her own bestseller called Unsung Heroes: Deconstructing Suicide through Stories of Triumph — a series of true stories from those who have struggled with the stigma of mental health and either battled suicidal thoughts or are suicide survivors now living a life of joy.

Kristie also finds joy in professional public speaking. Her sessions touch on many topics, including emotional health in the workplace, suicide prevention and awareness, secondary post-traumatic stress disorder, and messages of hope. Ultimately, her passion lies in inspiring and motivating audiences by sharing her own struggles with sorrow, depression, and suicide and how she ultimately rose through Jesus, turning her therapeutic hard work into a life of joy

Regardless of age, sexual orientation, location, or background, darkness can find its way into all of our lives, but Kristie is here to help. Whatever you are going through, she can help to illuminate your path through genuine partnership and by teaching ways to develop and sustain peace, joy, and success in all facets of life.

To make the path to healing as simple and convenient for clients as possible, Kristie offers in person and telehealth appointments. Schedule a session with Kristie today!
